Massimiliano Tuveri, MD

Dr. Massimiliano Tuveri was born  in San Gavino M.le (CA) in 1966. He qualified in Medicine (MD degree) in 1991 at the University of Cagliari, and obtained his certification in Vascular Surgery in 1997 e in General Surgery in 2008  at the University of Cagliari. During the residency he attended the Department of Pathology of the UPMC and the Department of  Surgery of McKeesport Hospital in Pittsburgh (USA). In 1998 he passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination and obtained the license to practice medicine in USA.

From 1997 to 2003 he has been Researcher at the Department of biomedical Application, CRS4 (Cagliari) headed by Prof. Carlo Rubbia. From 1999 to 2006 he has been Visiting Professor at the Institute of Numerical Analysis, Department of Mathematics at the University of Milan and Lausanne (Switzerland). 

He served as Attending Surgeon at the Polispecialistica Sant’Elena in Quartu Sant’Elena (CA) from 1998 to 2012. In the same period he started a collaboration as Consultant in laparoscopic surgery at the Department of Surgery of the Cagliari University Hospital in Cagliari.  

From 2012 to 2014 he has been Assistant Professor of Surgery and Fellow in Multiorgan Transplantation and Epatobiliary Surgery, Clinical and Research, at the Department of Surgery, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, USA.

He served from 2014 to 2015 as Attending Surgeon at the Hospitals of Oristano (OR) and San Gavino M.le (CA), Italy.

From October 2015 he is Attending Surgeon at the Pancreas Institute, Department of General Surgery, University of Verona, Italy.

Dr. Tuveri caseload exceeds 4500 procedures in the field of General, Vascular and Epatobiliary surgery (including more than 50 pancreatic resections). He is author of 36 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 5 booh chapters, more than 90 presentations to national and international surgical meetings. 

He is Fellow of the Italian Society of Surgeons, Fellow of the Italian Association of Surgeons, Fellow of the Texas Transplant Society.
